Curse of the Demon Tree

I've never had a patient who chose voluntary starvation before.

This patient chose to discontinue all food and water. I respect their choice, but it was hard for me because I didn't know what to tell them other than: "This is going to be painful."

I've spent sixteen years in the medical industry. It feels like we have a plan for everything. When I encounter situations like these they stay in my head for awhile. Did I do everything that I could for this person? Did I present enough options to them? It's hard to be the healer when you don't know what tools to take out to help the wounded.
